The Suzuki Nine Knights wouldn’t be complete without the epic gala dinner, celebrating all of the incredible performances of the invited athletes. This year’s edition didn’t include the customary photo competition but the event’s three photographers were able to make a show of their incredible images. As usual, the mood was super festive and excited, especially to award the skiers and snowboarders for the following categories: ‘Ruler of the Hip’, ‘Best Style’, ‘Highest Air’, ‘Best GoPro Photo’, and ‘Ruler of the Week’.
Thanks to their huge amplitude and stylish tricks, local boy Christof Schenk and Belgian snowboarder Sebbe de Buck were crown the Perfect Hip Champions and therefore, the Rulers of the Hip, both taking home a week-long surf trip in Portugal powered by Blue Tomato.
With this stacked list of riders, it was difficult to determine who would win the ‘Best Style’ category, but thankfully our judges, the athletes themselves, awarded the Suzuki surfboards to Joffrey Pollet-Villard and Christian Haller.
The skiers and snowboarders battled it out all week for ‘The Highest Air’, though it was ultimately David Wise and Christian Haller who boosted just a bit more than their fellow skiers and snowboarders, respectively. Both riders took home awesome Suzuki surfboards to use this summer.
The Best GoPro Photo was between both the skiers and snowboarders, and was awarded to Christian Haller, giving him 1,500 Euros thanks to GoPro.
The ‘Rulers of the Week’ was another really hard category to determine but was finally given to Christof Schenk and Sebbe de Buck for their epic riding all week long. The reward? Each got to take home a Monster Pit Bike!
A MASSIVE shout-out to all of the athletes, photographers, and partners who make it all possible!
